Reading clarion data files

The way it is currently working is a list is made manually of the directory contents in another file which is read to get the file names. This is so the true file name can be used in a global variable to open the files for processing. What I really need is a way to automatically get the directory contents always the same directory, just randomly different file names from day to day to automate the process.
