Does chkdsk create a log file xp

Rollin' Rog. Joined Dec 9, Messages 45, You can find it in XP by doing this. That should be it. Hey Rollin' Rog Thanks very much. It worked perfectly. That doesn't beg an answer; it's pure rhetoric. Me sounding off! Thanks again Larry MorePtoblems.

Lol, that's one that bugged me as well -- you don't know how much digging I originally had to do to find the bloody log. And in Vista -- its's different -- there the application log is in "wininit", not "winlogon" By the way we always like to see a "Solved" tag on our threads when all is well -- just click the tab at the upper left You're most welcome for the tip. Certainly it cannot be concluded that a system that runs chkdsk on every boot is absolutely headed toward imminent hardware failure. A few times I had to re-install Windows. Experienced this a few years earlier while running XPHomeEd had similar episodes, but problem suddenly cured itself.

Till recent events started again. I also run XPPro. In my humble experience XP Home Ed. Thank you for a very helpfull site. Search Ask Leo! Problem is I have no idea what it displayed, since it then proceeded to reboot the machine when it was done.
