But overall it's a pretty song. No Replies Log in to reply. General Comment The lyrics remind of Olsen twins or ex-child-actresses in general. I know they are not of recent topics but they have been playing this song for some years now or been keeping it up their sleeves. Anthraim on December 11, Link. General Comment The part about being "old enough to bleed" kind of grossed me out. Yeah, it did for me too It's about being able to be hurt by the world, not something gross.

General Comment the lyrics are definitely ambiguous on purpose. Out of a magazine" Emphasis: "she's old enough to bleed now," she's not afraid to die cause she's old enough that she doesn't care. My Interpretation I feel like this song is about a teenager growing up. The first time they are experiencing the pressures of the real world.

I thought at first that "She dangles from her necklace" was about committing suicide, and that "Daddy's little bundle of joy out of a magazine" was saying that this once "happy little girl" is now a living product of the media, that she is just like what she sees in the magazines.

I feel like the ending wear it repeated "She is old enough to bleed now. That she is old enough to stop living a care free childhood that she is now a adolescent in a media ridden world.

That she is old enough to feel insecure and suicidal. That "daddies bundle of joy" is now gone. My Interpretation I think it's about a girl daughter of the narator that is growing up, becoming a teenager.

The song sort of sounds like a lullaby because while the father accepts she's growing up, he wants her to know that whatever happens, she'll still be his little girl. She's a drama queen both for the classic baby tantrums as much as the classic "I hate my parents!

He's letting her grow up and experience things that everyone must learn at some point; for example, "You better call a lawyer" and "She is so wild and reckless" since a usual symptom of becoming a teenager is acting rebellious and sometimes getting in trouble with the law. Throughout the song you can see she experiences darker turns in life that turn her from a drama queen into a young woman "I think she's going phsyco", "From here to San Fransico" and "Her life is now unfolding" because she is experiencing the memories that will shape her into who she is.

A line that's repeated a few times is "She's old to bleed now" which I first I only thought of as "she's old enough to get her heart broken and get hurt now" but if you let it sink in a bit, you realize it may also be speaking about her period, which starts during puberty.

I like to think it means both she is a teenager and gets her period and she's old enough to get emotionally hurt now. You consent to our cookies and privacy policy if you continue to use this site.
